If you want to give another RunCloud user access to your server, you can transfer your server to their account. This will remove your server from your RunCloud dashboard and add it to theirs. You will no longer be able to manage your server through RunCloud after the transfer.

Before you transfer your server, please note the following:

  • Transferring a server will delete any backup instances for web applications and databases on that server.
  • Transferring a server will reset any Slack Webhook URL, Telegram Notification and Health Notification settings for that server.
  • Transferring a server will require any SSL certificates on that server to be re-authorized by the new owner.
  • Transferring a server will not affect the actual VPS or its configuration. Only the RunCloud dashboard will change.
  • Transferring a server will not allow you to transfer it again for up to 2 weeks.

To transfer your server to another RunCloud account, follow these steps:

  1. On the RunCloud dashboard, select the server you want to transfer.
  2. Click on Settings in the left sidebar.
  3. Scroll down to the Danger Zone section and click on Transfer Server.
  1. Read the Transfer Server instructions carefully and make sure you understand the consequences of transferring your server.
  2. Enter the email address of the RunCloud user you want to transfer your server to and click Initiate Transfer.
  3. Make sure you enter the correct email address. You cannot undo this action once the transfer is accepted.
  1. You will see a Pending Server Transfer message on your screen. You can cancel the transfer at any time before it is accepted by clicking on Cancel Transfer.
  2. The RunCloud user you are transferring your server to will receive an email notification and a message on their dashboard. They will have 15 days to accept or decline the transfer. If they do not respond within 15 days, the transfer will be canceled automatically.
  1. If they accept the transfer, they will see a confirmation message on their screen, and your server will be added to their dashboard.
  2. If they decline the transfer, they will see a message on their screen, and your server will remain on your dashboard.
