RunCloud provides an IP address hit monitoring functionality that allows RunCloud users to gain insights into their website’s traffic patterns and visitor information.

This data helps you understand:

  • Which IP addresses are accessing your site most frequently
  • Where your visitors are coming from geographically
  • How much bandwidth each IP address is consuming

Follow the instructions below to view and enable IP Address Hit monitoring on your website:

  1. To view the IP addresses of the visitors on your website, you will need to log in to your RunCloud dashboard.
  2. Open the web application settings and look for the “Monitoring” option in the sidebar menu.
  3. Next, switch to the “IP Address Hit” tab to see if it is already enabled for your web application.
  1. To enable IP Address Hit monitoring, click on the “Configuration” button and find the toggle switch for IP Address Hit monitoring. Turn the toggle switch on and click on the checkbox at the bottom to provide your consent to RunCloud to run the monitoring agent on your server.

Note: If you wish to disable IP Address Hit monitoring in future, simply follow these steps and turn the toggle switch off, before clicking the “Save Configuration” button.
  2. Finally, click “Save Configuration” to apply the changes.
  1. After enabling the monitoring, you will need to wait for approximately one minute for data to start appearing. After a couple of minutes, return to the main monitoring page and click on the “IP Address Hit” tab to refresh the page.
  2. Once the data starts appearing, you’ll see a data table with the following information:
    • IP Address: The unique identifier of the visitor
    • Location: The geographical location of the IP address
    • Bandwidth: The amount of data transferred
    • Hits: The number of requests from this IP address
  1. If you see too much information, you may want to use the “Timeframe” dropdown to filter data based on different time periods.

This will allow you to filter out unnecessary information and provide you more flexibility. For example, you can click on “7 days” in the drop-down to see the IP addresses of all visitors for the past week, and ignore everything before that.
