The Limits & Usage page provides a comprehensive overview of your RunCloud resource consumption, plan limitations, and subscription status.
You can access this information by navigating to Settings > Limits & Usage in your RunCloud dashboard. This page helps you monitor your resource usage and determine when to consider upgrading your subscription.
The “Limits & Usage” page differs from the “Plan Details” section in your RunCloud profile. While the “Plan Details” section lists the features and limitations in your subscription package, the “Limits & Usage” page provides an actionable, real-time breakdown of your actual resource consumption.
Resource Sections Overview
The Limits & Usage page gives you granular visibility into how your team uses available resources, helping you make informed decisions about resource allocation and potential subscription upgrades.
This detailed breakdown is particularly valuable for team leads and administrators who need to monitor and optimize resource usage across different workspaces and team members.
Server Management
The Servers section displays your total server usage across all workspaces. It shows how many servers you’ve deployed compared to your plan’s limit, broken down by personal and workspace allocations.
For example, if you see “2 / 500 servers”, this means you’re using two servers out of your 500 server limit, with detailed percentage breakdowns for each workspace.
RunCloud Storage
This section shows your RunCloud-provided backup storage usage. The storage limit (e.g., 100GB) is shared across all your workspaces, and you can see exactly how much storage each workspace is consuming. This native backup solution is directly integrated with the RunCloud platform for seamless backup management.
External Storage
The External Storage section tracks backups stored on third-party storage providers you’ve connected to RunCloud. While there might not be a strict limit on external storage usage, this metric helps you monitor your external backup distribution across workspaces and plan your storage strategy accordingly.
Local Storage
Local Storage metrics show how much server-side backup storage you’re using. This helps you track backups stored directly on your servers, which can be crucial for maintaining server performance and ensuring you have adequate disk space for your applications.
Workspace Management
The Workspace section displays two key metrics: your total workspace count and the number of team members across your workspaces. This information is useful for teams using RunCloud collaboratively as it helps you manage access controls and ensure you’re within your plan’s limits for team size and workspace allocation.
Developer API Usage
The Developer API section shows your API call consumption against your monthly limit. It provides information on used and remaining calls, helping you track your automation and integration usage. For instance, with a limit of 400,000 calls, you can see exactly how many calls you’ve used and how many are still available, expressed in absolute numbers and percentages.
Making Data-Driven Decisions
The detailed breakdown provided on the Limits & Usage page enables you to:
- Track resource usage trends over time
- Identify potential bottlenecks before they become issues
- Make informed decisions about resource allocation
- Justify subscription upgrades based on actual usage data
- Monitor team productivity and resource efficiency
Consider upgrading your RunCloud subscription when you consistently approach 80% usage in any resource category to ensure uninterrupted service for your applications and team members.
